Energetic, persistent, and inventive, Christiane has left her mark on the hospitality industry. She studied hotel and restaurant management in Toronto and worked at a restaurant in San Francisco before returning to work with her family and opening no fewer than three restaurant-bars and two luxury hotels in the Quebec City area.
She then expanded her field of operations by opening hotels in Montreal and Toronto, while at the same time acquiring the Auberge Hatley, a renowned establishment in the Eastern Townships..
In addition to running a fast-growing company, Christiane was a former president of the Quebec City Tourism and Convention Board, Quebec City Summer Festival, and Restaurant Owners’ Association and sits on a number of other corporate boards. Although a hard-nosed businesswoman, she is also a warm-hearted person who takes it upon herself to handle her customers’ every need.
Jean-Yves Germain leads development, plans financing, and supervises construction of hotel projects for both the Le Germain and ALT Hotels brands.
Trained at the Institut de Tourisme et d'Hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ), Jean-Yves was quick to shine when handed the reins of the family restaurant business. Today he is the Groupe Germain’s co-president, overseeing the development, organisation and financing of the Groupe Germain's hotels. Among his achievements are Hôtel Germain des Prés and Hôtel Dominion 1912 in Quebec City, Hôtel Le Germain in Montreal, as well as Hôtel Le Germain in Toronto.
Parallel to his career in the hotel industry, Jean-Yves is president of Casot Ltd., a Quebec City company that owns and operates numerous residential and commercial buildings. He also sits on the board of directors of the Institut de Développement Urbain du Québec (IDU) and is involved in a number of charitable initiatives throughout the community.
With his tireless devotion to customer satisfaction and keen eye for the latest hotel trends, Jean-Yves brings to the hotel industry a real passion for the business and a can-do spirit that delights in new challenges.
With a hotel and restaurant management degree from Humber College in Toronto, Richard Germain began his career in the hospitality industry as an assistant manager at Chez Giorgio restaurant and Le Fiacre. He then developed his hospitality expertise at the Bonaventure Hilton in Montreal before joining his sister Christiane in managing and marketing the Hôtel Germain des Prés.
Since its opening in June 1997, and for almost ten years, Richard has managed the Hôtel Dominion 1912 with a masterful touch, as evidenced by the business’ many awards and its record-breaking occupancy rate. This is not surprising, given that Richard is the type of manager who doesn’t skimp on any detail to ensure his guests’ satisfaction and who works side by side with his staff. Gifted with a sense of innovation and design which he eagerly cultivates, Richard has managed to imbue the Hôtel Dominion 1912 with his own personality: dignified, generous and welcoming.
